If you or someone you know is struggling with mortgage payments, there are resources available to help you. Please call CHDC to find out what we can do at no cost to you. Because CHDC is part of the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program created by the United States Congress, federal law and regulations prevent us from charging fees to clients for this program.
Unfortunately, especially in lower income communities, foreclosure rescue scams are rampant. Be extra careful of anyone who advertises or offers you help, and please do not agree to pay any fees! Anyone who charges a fee is not part of the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program and therefore might not be qualified, experienced, or able to help you.
CHDC's foreclosure mitigation staff is trained and certified according to standards of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We offer counseling in both English and Spanish, and can arrange for other languages as needed. Over the past three years CHDC has educated and counseled thousands of people on this issue. The loan modification process can be complex and technical, and our counselors have the knowledge and experience to help you get the best possible resolution. Our staff is also fully trained in how to use the federal Making Home Affordable program. We will assess your eligibility and evaluate whether this program will be helpful in your case.
You will be contacted to set up an appointment as soon as your file is complete and reviewed by our staff.
For more information or questions, please contact CHDC's Foreclosure Intervention Intake Specialist at 510-412-9290 x17. We experience a high volume of telephone calls regarding foreclosure intervention services. We make every effort to return phone calls within 48 hours of receipt and appreciate your patience as we return calls in the order they are received.
