We maintain a special focus on revitalization of North Richmond as our headquarters neighborhood.
CHDC is a HUD approved housing counseling agency and a member of NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit organization chartered by Congress to support community development and revitalization.

If you already own your home, take our new homeowners' class to learn about maintenance, taxes, insurance, home equity loans, refinancing and other matters. Your home is probably your biggest financial asset - learn to protect and care for it. You can also contact us with individual questions about owning your home.
If you are concerned about problems with your home loan CHDC can help you understand and exercise your options to preserve your home. As a HUD approved housing counseling agency we provide unbiased information and counseling at no charge to you.
Do you always feel broke? Are you living from paycheck to paycheck, not getting a paycheck, or feeling like financial stability is beyond your grasp? CHDC's financial fitness class can teach you how to manage your money, get or repair credit, work toward your goals and become financially healthy. This class is required to enroll in CC-MATCH, below.
Contra Costa - Moving Assets Toward Community Hands (CC-MATCH) is a matched savings program, also known as an Individual Development Account (IDA). For eligible participants, it gives you matching funds when you save money toward your first major asset such as a home, post-secondary education, or establishing a small business.
Earn It! Keep It! Save It! Contra Costa helps taxpayers with lower incomes file their taxes and get their full and correct refunds, at no charge. CHDC supports a county-wide network of taxpayer assistance sites staffed by trained, IRS-certified volunteers.
The SparkPoint Centers help people build a better future through financial security. CHDC is a key partner in the SparkPoint Centers in East and West Contra Costa. You can get all the above CHDC services at the centers. The SparkPoints can also help you improve your financial security in other ways, for example by finding a job, pursuing your education or getting emergency help. A financial coach can help you set priorities and follow your plan.
This program facilitates local participation in CHDC's headquarters neighborhood of North Richmond to reduce illegal dumping, eliminate blight, promote recycling, restore parks and creeks, and encourage a healthy environment.
